It is a well-known fact that exercise not only boosts your mood but also enhances your performance at work. You don’t need to run 100 miles a day or cycle up a mountain before work to boost your mood and feel energised during the day. Something as simple as a 20-30-minute morning walk will not only clear your mind but it can also get you going and get your energized to get the most out of your day!

Some people often make the mistake of thinking that morning exercise will tire you out and have a negative impact on your workday but this couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, it has the opposite effect. Exercise is known to increase blood flow to the brain, which will increase your mental focus, awareness, and keep you sharp enough to beat that dreaded afternoon slump that seems to be most severe on a Monday for some reason.

In recent years, Society has placed a great emphasis on mental health and wellbeing. Working long hours sitting in front of a computer in most cases isn’t physically draining but it most certainly can be mentally draining and a little depressing at times. Sometimes we all just need to close down the laptop, put away the smartphone, disregard any E-mails, Snapchats, WhatsApp groups or whatever it may be and get some fresh air. Regular exercise and giving yourself a break from social media/technology is a trusted mood booster and can help curb those feeling of depression or pick you up when you’re feeling run down as regular exercises helps the brain release a chemical called serotonin, a chemical that both increases your mood and helps you achieve a healthy mental state which in turn will makes those bad days a little bit easier to handle!

So now that the sun has miraculously re-appeared, lace up those running shoes, hit the pool or whatever your preferred method of exercise may be and begin to reap the rewards!
