Seasonally adjusted Live Register total decreases by 3,000 in January

According to the latest figures released by the CSO on a seasonally adjusted basis the Live Register total recorded a monthly decrease of 3,000 (­1.2%) in January 2018, reducing the seasonally adjusted total to 238,400.

Irish seasonally adjusted unemployment rate declined to 6.1 percent in January 2018 from 6.2 percent in the previous month and compared with 7.4 percent a year earlier. The number of persons on the Live Register in January 2018 is also the lowest number recorded in the seasonally adjusted series August 2008.
