The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection will host a breakfast seminar focusing on the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workforce. This free event will be beneficial to employers as they work to enhance inclusivity in the workplace. It will take place in the Kingsley Hotel, Carrigrohane Road, Cork on Tuesday 23 October 2018.
The keynote speaker will be Paralympian John Twomey, who has competed in 11 Paralympic Games winning gold and bronze in the discus. He also competed in sailing over five previous Paralympics from Sydney in 2000 to Brazil in 2016. John will give an insight into his sporting career while at the same time explaining how he established and managed a successful accountancy business.
This will be followed by a panel discussion with contributions from employers who will give practical examples of the benefits of an inclusive workplace culture.
There will also be information on the range of financial supports available from the Department to facilitate greater inclusivity in the workplace.
Registration for this seminar will commence at 7:15am with refreshments served on arrival giving you an opportunity to network with fellow attendees. Official proceedings will commence at 8:00am and finish at 9:45am.
